The Shire Trophy
38 Schools took part in the annual Shire Trophy, for the third year running the competition has been over subscribed. A glorious summers day...maybe too hot for some of the players with no wind, unusual for the Shire.

The Inaugural Shire Trophy was held on the day the Shire London opened to the public and has now become one of the finest courses in the UK. The Junior Open
The inaugural Junior open was held on the 30 June at The Shire London. The competition was started after many requests from students, parents and teachers to run a Junior / Prep school 18 hole event on a full size course. This competition compliments the many Prep school golf competitions held around the country. The ISGA promote free of charge any school that runs a prep / junior competition at their school course. Many maybe be surprised to hear that over 100 schools in the UK have their own golf course.

The Shire Trophy for Senior schools was held the day before with wonderfully sunny conditions. The good weather continued. 21 Schools took part in the competition with teachers and parents playing alongside the students for the Teacher /Parent Cup.

After 9 holes the lower handicap players were under par for their round, but the final testing holes took their toll.
