General rules for ISGA Seniors competitions

1.     Age

Competitions are open to boys and girls who currently attend a Senior Independent School

2.Handicaps

Schools Matchplay Tournament (Knockout rounds) no handicap allowance, pupils must play in handicap order lowest out first.

Area plate for schools knocked out in the first round played under full handicap allowance (Stableford).

ISGA Shire trophy. Stroke play qualifying event.

Trophies and prizes for both scratch and nett. Team and Individual

ISGA Schools Cup. A team event played with 1 Teacher and 3 Pupils Trophies for best scratch score (3 out of 4) and best 3 out of 4 scores under full handicap

Teachers competitions. Played under full handicap stableford and scratch. 2 Trophies for the knockout stages and 2 trophies at the Grand Final.

3. Teams

Matchplay competition A team consists of three players of either sex who will play individual matchplay against their opposing school.

Matches must go out in handicap order lowest first

ISGA Schools cup. Teams of 4 (1 Teacher and 3 pupils) best 3 scores to count

ISGA Shire Trophy. Teams of 3 per school best 2 scores to count Gross and full handicap Trophies

4. Tees

Boys play off Mens competition tees Girls play off Ladies tees

5. Golf Rules

  Golf Rules as per rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.

A local rules sheet will be available on the day of the ISGA Schools Matchplay Finals, The ISGA Shire trophy and The ISGA Schools Cup.

No caddies allowed.

Parents may watch at a safe distance. No advice may be given during the round

6. Range Finders

GPS and Rangefinders are allowed at the permission of the host course

7. Etiquette

Good etiquette is required by all players and schools. Serious breach of etiquette could result in individual or team disqualification.

No schools may use our events for any commercial gain or approach any individual with a view to poaching. Breach of above will lead to suspension of school from ISGA competitions for 3 years subject to review.

The ISGA reserve the right to disallow individuals or teams from participating in any of their competitions if previous breaches of the above have taken place

The decision of the organisers is Final

8. School Consent

 

CHILD PROTECTION – PHOTOGRAPHY

 

The Independent Schools Golf Association recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all children and young people in sport.

In accordance with our child protection policy we will not permit photographs, video or other images of children and young people to be taken without the consent of their school

The Independent Schools Golf Association will take all necessary measures to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes they are intended. For example use on the ISGA websites, golf magazines reporting results.

 

All Schools must be aware of the Children in Golf Child Protection Policy and Procedures and guidelines in relation to away competition/tournaments.

 

All Schools acknowledge that the Independent Schools Golf Association will not be liable in the event of any accident or loss during any competition/tournament.

 

Emergency First Aid / Medical Treatment

All schools must have medical procedures in place for the needs of each individual that takes part in any ISGA competition.

 

By entering an ISGA competition all schools agree that photographic consent has been given for their pupils

9. Application forms

 

Once an application form has been submitted by the school or Master I/C Golf this forms a contract between the school and the ISGA for full payment due.

Only in exceptional circumstances will fees be waived
