Finals

27 & 28 April 2008

at The Devere Wokefield Park

There was a nail biting finish to this years  grand finals as the results of the final group were to decide the winners.  The first day started with thunder and lightning as the players checked in....all were asking what happens now..thoughts of changing the competition to a 9 hole on the first day. Eventually the clouds disappeared and play got under way only about half an hour late.

Playing off the blue tees this championship course proved to be a real test of golf with 60 percent of the field Category One handicap players. Day one was led by Simon Moore from Campbell College with a round of 74 net 71 closely followed by boys from Millfield, Wellington college, Loretto and Campbell College.. Day 1 saw Campbell College and Millfield joint leaders with 150 each closely followed by Wellington College on 153 and Loretto on 154.

All to play for on the second day.

During the evening of the first day a buffet dinner was laid on for all schools in the Kingfisher room, followed by prize giving for all teams on winning their area finals
